Our Focus
At WRC, to accomplish our mission, we focus on 5 Pillars:

Childcare Centers On-site support program (CDS)
We meet children where they are — developmentally, emotionally, behaviorally. From in-themoment behavioral support to trauma-informed interventions, we equip kids with the emotional
tools they need to thrive — not just survive.

Outpatient+Family Mental Health Therapy
Teachers are the heartbeat of our classrooms. At WRC, we pour into them. Through emotional and behavioral help for them as individuals first.

Triple Parenting Classes
Parenting is powerful — but it’s not meant to be done alone. We empower caregivers with practical tools and evidence-based strategies through our Triple P training and support--- strengthening families from the inside out.

Trauma Informed Care
Trauma Informed Care (TIC) is an approach in mental health and social services that recognizes and responds to the effects of all types of trauma. It emphasizes physical, psychological, and emotional safety for both providers and survivors and helps rebuild a sense of control and empowerment for those affected by trauma.
When offering Trauma Informed Care, therapists and caregivers operate under the core principles of recognizing the prevalence of trauma; understanding how trauma can affect families, individuals, groups, and communities; and integrating this knowledge into all aspects of treatment. The aim is to avoid re-traumatization and support healing and resilience.
In practice, Trauma Informed Care for families often includes the following elements: Safety, Transparency, and Trustworthiness; Peer Support and Mutual Self-Help; Collaboration and Mutuality; Empowerment, Voice, and Choice; and Cultural, Historical, and Gender Issues. Our providers are trained to recognize the signs and symptoms of trauma and understand various ways trauma can manifest, such as fears, outbursts, or withdrawal. They adapt their methods to meet the specific needs of each family, ensuring that all interventions are sensitive to the trauma’s impacts. Trauma Informed Care is not about treating the trauma itself, but rather adjusting the way care is provided to ensure it is respectful of and sensitive to the effects of trauma.
